Emergency Flood Water Removal

The Client

A construction company carrying out groundworks and preparing drainage systems on a site in London in preparation for the building of over 1,000 new homes.

The Situation

Storm Henk swept through the UK in early January 2024, bringing huge amounts of rainfall and causing flooding in a number of locations across the country, including in parts of the capital. On 10 January, we received a call asking us to attend our client’s construction site to assist with some emergency floodwater removal. Without the expertise we were able to bring to the situation, our client would not have been able to continue with their work, which would have led to further costly delays to the overall project.

Our Response

The day after receiving our client’s call for help, we arrived at their site with six articulated tankers, each of which was able to remove up to 30,000 litres of water at a time. Over the course of the next week, our tankers were able to successfully remove and dispose of more than 2.4 million litres of flood water from the site. This enabled our client to successfully continue with their work, allowing the project to swiftly move on to the next phase.
